Welcome to the home of the Rutgers University Swing Dance Club!
We are devoted to spreading the joy of swing dancing as well as promoting swing dance awareness to members of Rutgers University, the city of New Brunswick, and the surrounding local community.
We offer beginner and intermediate lessons in Lindy Hop, Blues Dancing, and West Coast Swing. On occasion, we teach popular Swing associated line dances, such as The Shim Sham, The Big Apple, and The Wobble.
Dancers with any experience (or lack thereof) are welcome to join our club and share in the joy of Swing Dancing. Just bring yourself, a willingness to learn something new, and come dance with us! No partner needed!
We meet every Monday night in the Douglass Campus Center.

A Bit of History...
In the spring of 2009, Brandon Rasmussen and Jenny Kafka founded the Rutgers University Swing Dance Club. Their goal was to teach the student body and those in the surrounding community, the art of swing dancing, in order to expand the currently growing swing dancing community on the East Coast.
What started out as a handful of students meeting in the basement of the College Avenue Gym has now turned into an ever-expanding group of students who all share a love for swing dancing.
